The Trinity Leadership Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Gateway Charter Academy 103-43 at home. Winning may never get old, but Trinity Leadership sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Trinity Leadership found their leader in underclassman Corbin Jones, who scored 14 points along with five steals. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Matthew Maiden was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
Several Gators players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Khing Williams, who scored 20 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. That was a full 46.5% of Gateway Charter Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Prince Rider, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Trinity Leadership pushed their record up to 13-15 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.2 points per game. As for Gateway Charter Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Trinity Leadership will head out on the road to challenge Village Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gateway Charter Academy, they will be playing at home against Madison at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Madison presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Gateway Charter Academy in Texas (Madison is ranked 498th, while Gateway Charter Academy is ranked 1375th).
