Brock Burkett Goes Supernova in Keller Defeat
Starting off the list is Keller's Brock Burkett, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Burkett rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 185 yards on 14 of 28 attempts. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
For the season, Burkett has averaged 65.2 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 24.48 passer rating per game. This year he is averaging 60.8 passer rating.

Nathanial Jean was instrumental in extending Northwest's winning streak to six on Thursday. Jean was excellent, rushing for 175 yards and a touchdown. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (102.8). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
Northwest's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Jean and Northwest will challenge Southlake Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Southlake Carroll Gets a Boost from Penn in 50-14 Victory
Southlake Carroll picked up their seventh consecutive win on Thursday thanks in part to Davis Penn. Penn was dynamite, rushing for 131 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Unfortunately for V.R. Eaton, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Penn. Penn rushed for 128 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries the last time he and the Eagles duked it out back in October of 2023.

Brock Boyd Dazzles in Southlake Carroll Win
Brock Boyd was instrumental in extending Southlake Carroll's winning streak to seven on Thursday. V.R. Eaton had no answer to Boyd as he picked up 79 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
For the season, Boyd has caught 10 touchdowns while averaging 110.4 receiving yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had three receiving touchdowns.

Ryder Norton and Co. Win Sixth in a Row
Ryder Norton's big game helped extend Northwest's winning streak to six on Thursday. Norton was unstoppable, throwing for 156 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 40 yards.
For the year, Norton has thrown 10 touchdowns (and and only 2 picks) while averaging 155 passing yards per game.
