The North Edgecombe Warriors entered their tilt with the Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. North Edgecombe breezed by Rocky Mount Prep at home to the tune of 71-15. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory North Edgecombe has managed all season.
North Edgecombe's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ke'Ziyah Pittman, who scored 11 points along with nine steals and seven assists. Those nine steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of ChyAsia Garrett, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
Rakia Brinkley and Niylee Bullock certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Brinkley scored six points, while Bullock scored five points. Bullock scored a full 33.3% of Rocky Mount Prep's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
North Edgecombe pushed their record up to 4-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Rocky Mount Prep, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
