Even though the Solebury Spartans scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, the Life Center Academy Warriors still came out on top. Life Center Academy took their contest against Solebury 71-59. Given Life Center Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 140th in New Jersey, while Solebury is ranked 315th in Pennsylvania), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Life Center Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Brown, who scored 24 points along with five assists and two steals. Brown has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Al-Tariq Reevey, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds.
Life Center Academy has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. As for Solebury, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
Life Center Academy will head out on the road to take on Cristo Rey Philadelphia at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cristo Rey Philadelphia knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Life Center Academy likes a good challenge. As for Solebury, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against New Foundations at 5:30 p.m.
