The Windermere Wolverines will take on the Lake Brantley Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Windermere will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Olympia on Wednesday. Windermere was the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Olympia.
Windermere got a great performance from Sophia Margelos as she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those hits were Margelos' first of the season.

At the plate, Tessa Olofson was a standout: she scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sabrina Boyer, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.
Windermere was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Lake Brantley put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by an 18-1 margin over University. The Patriots' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Lauren Compton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylin Sprague, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Kayla Morris was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Lake Brantley's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.2 runs. As for Windermere, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Windermere has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. However, it's not like Lake Brantley struggles in that department as they've averaged .500. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Windermere came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Brantley in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Will Windermere repeat their success, or does Lake Brantley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
