Even though the Burbank Bulldogs scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, the Glendale Nitros still came out on top. Glendale managed a 62-56 win over Burbank. Given Glendale's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 369th, while Burbank is ranked 883rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Burbank still got an impressive performance from Odartey Blankson, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 16 rebounds. Blankson hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamran Alborzian, who scored 16 points.
Glendale is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Burbank, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glendale will take on Muir at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Burbank, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Arcadia at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jordan Dollar and Blankson.
