The Thunder Ridge Longhorns's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Lakeside, falling 56-26. Thunder Ridge lost against Lakeside in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 49-41 score last time.
Leading Lakeside to victory were Jace Cunningham and Reece Remus. Cunningham scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Remus dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Remus hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Kaden Mccoy was another key contributor, scoring two points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Thunder Ridge has fallen quite a ways from their 16-7 record last season and are now at 2-5. As for Lakeside, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Thunder Ridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Pike Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pike Valley is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Lakeside, they will head out on the road to square off against Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
