After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Munroe, the Maclay Marauders were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 47-20 win over St. John Paul II. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Maclay also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Maclay was led to victory by Sophia Van asten and Lauren Guyer. Van asten scored eight points, while Guyer scored ten points.
Despite the defeat, St. John Paul II had strong showings from Aliyah Medrano, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Ixel Rodriguez, who scored seven points.
Maclay's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-8. As for St. John Paul II, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Maclay won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Timberwolves at 5:30 p.m. on January 31st. Chiles is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for St. John Paul II, they will face off against the Eagles at TBD on Monday.
