Basketball Recap: Bronson Comes Up Short

Bronson fought the good fight in their overtime game against Stockbridge on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 70-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stockbridge Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 370th, while the Panthers are ranked 135th).

Despite the loss, Bronson still got an impressive performance from Kamron Brackett, who went 12-for-27 on his way to 31 points in addition to seven steals and six assists. Brackett's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 23 points. Another player making a difference was Owen Losinski, who posted ten points and six assists.

Even though they lost, Bronson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive matchups.

Brock Rochow continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Stockbridge, dropping a double-double with 32 points and 12 rebounds. Those 32 points gave Rochow a new career-high. Shannon Henderson was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Bronson now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Stockbridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Coming up, Bronson will face off against Maple Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bronson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.7 points per game this season. As for Stockbridge, they will challenge Reading at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stockbridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
