Volleyball Recap: Lodi Comes Up Short

Lodi saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the Sturgeon Bay Clippers by a score of 2-1.

When it comes to explaining why Lodi lost, don't look at Fayth Hesselberg. Despite the final result, she had 19 digs and four aces. Hesselberg is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

Sturgeon Bay found their leader in freshman Makenna Coyhis, who had 17 assists and three aces.

Lodi's defeat dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Sturgeon Bay, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-23 record this season.

Coincidentally, Lodi and Sturgeon Bay will both be playing Berlin the next time they take the court. The Clippers will head out to face the Indians at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Blue Devils will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
