The Perkiomen Valley Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Phoenixville Phantoms at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Perkiomen Valley will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Spring-Ford, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Vikings blew past the Rams 9-3 on Monday. The win was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won three contests in a row.
Nicholas Cress looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ryan King was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aidan Autovino, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Phoenixville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Boyertown a 6-0 shutout on Monday.
The result came thanks to Cadin Coleman's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. Phoenixville is 4-1 when Coleman allows one or fewer hits, but 4-7 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Phoenixville's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Giovanni Vito, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Chris Mull also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Phoenixville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Perkiomen Valley, their record is now 11-4.
Perkiomen Valley took their victory against Phoenixville in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 9-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
