The Curtis Baptist Crusaders will be playing at home against the Jefferson Davis Academy Raiders at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Curtis Baptist has ten straight victories, the Raiders have six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, Curtis Baptist strolled past the Sundevils with points to spare, taking the game 41-23.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Curtis Baptist to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maci Butler, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Butler hasn't dropped below two steals for 15 straight games. Nyla Robinson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Jefferson Davis Academy came up short against the Raiders on Monday and fell 23-12.
Curtis Baptist is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Jefferson Davis Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Curtis Baptist against the Raiders in their previous meeting two weeks ago as the team secured a 54-21 victory. Will Curtis Baptist repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
