Dayton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Newport only posted a batting average of .000.
Dayton's record now sits at 2-11. As for Newport, they dropped their record down to 0-20 with the defeat, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season.
