It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Shikellamy Braves can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Selinsgrove on Friday, falling 58-10. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Shikellamy in their matchups with Selinsgrove: they've now lost eight in a row.
Shikellamy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Thomas Pollock, who picked up 153 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Brody Rebuck who threw for 208 yards and a touchdown.
Selinsgrove got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tucker Teats out in front who rushed for 99 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Teats was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Andrew Sassaman also helped out with an impressive 117 receiving yards.
Shikellamy's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Selinsgrove, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0-1.
Shikellamy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Selinsgrove will be playing at home against Jersey Shore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jersey Shore is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
