The El Toro Chargers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 31-14 bruising from Trabuco Hills. While losing is never fun, El Toro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 310th, while Trabuco Hills is ranked 104th).
Trabuco Hills' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mikey Gray, who picked up 133 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Gray's longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards. Another player making a difference was Jacob Perry, who threw for 215 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
El Toro has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Trabuco Hills, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
El Toro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Trabuco Hills will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Newport Harbor at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
