Vermilion Valley Top Player Performances of the Week
Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!
Evan Parish and Co. Win Seventh in a Row
Evan Parish was instrumental in extending Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin's winning streak to seven on Friday. Nobody could stop Parish as he made 11 total tackles. He is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season.
Unfortunately for Momence, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Parish. Parish made 11 total tackles (5.0 for loss) the last time he and the Momence Athletics duked it out back in October of 2023.

Castillo Made His Presence Known in Momence's 42-14 Defeat
While Erick Castillo delivered a dominant performance on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Momence. Nobody could stop Castillo as he threw for 257 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making a tackle.
Castillo and Momence will face off against Watseka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last time Castillo took on the Warriors, he threw for 175 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Oakwood Gets a Boost from Harrison in 44-6 Victory
Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Chase Harrison stepped things up a notch to give Oakwood the 'W'. Harrison was dynamite, picking up 73 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He is becoming a predictor of Oakwood's success: when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns the team is 3-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
Iroquois West's probably not too fond of Harrison given he always seems to get the better of them. When Harrison last faced the Raiders back in October of 2023, he picked up 141 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
