Center Grove has gone a perfect 4-0 against Edinburgh recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Trojans will be taking part in a tournament against the Lancers at 5:30 p.m. Center Grove is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Center Grove had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Mooresville on Thursday. The Trojans never let the Pioneers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by nine runs or more this season.
Kara Biever looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Center Grove got a massive performance out of Hayden Baird, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave Baird a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kiersten Hardin, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Center Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Edinburgh unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Southwestern by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Lancers couldn't push the score so high this time.
Kenna Streeval was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Streeval was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Streeval wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chole Hancock, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Center Grove's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Edinburgh, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Center Grove hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Edinburgh struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Center Grove's way against Edinburgh in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Center Grove made off with a 14-0 victory. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
