The Gateway Charter Griffins entered their tilt with the North Port Bobcats with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Gateway Charter came out on top against North Port by a score of 57-47 on Monday. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Gateway Charter considering their one-point performance the contest before.
Gateway Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ellie Morin led the charge by scoring 13 points along with six rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Emily Salas, who scored nine points along with four steals and three blocks.
Gateway Charter's victory bumped their record up to 5-1-1. As for North Port, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gateway Charter will face off against Lehigh at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lehigh will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. North Port's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lakewood Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th. Lakewood Ranch has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
