Having just played yesterday, the Westview Chargers will get right back to it and host the Humboldt Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on December 29th. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Westview has seven straight victories, Humboldt has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Westview has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 57-29 victory over Paducah Tilghman at home. With Westview ahead 40-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Westview's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Annelise Hayden, who scored eight points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hayden has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Alexander, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Humboldt suffered a tough 44-22 defeat at the hands of Houston last Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Humboldt has scored all season.
Westview's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Humboldt, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Everything came up roses for Westview against Humboldt in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 58-18 victory. With Westview ahead 32-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.
