Fans got a thrill when Brady Atkins and Trey Turner connected against Logansport. The longest such play in 1A District 3 this season, the connection resulted in 95 yards.
St. Mary took down Northwood 46-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Aaron Calcote made the biggest impact on defense this week as Block defeated LaSalle. The 6-foot-1 freshman forced 1 fumble and recorded 3 fumbles.
James Davis provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Montgomery beat the Tigers.
Davis was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 141 yards as the Tigers bested Logansport. Bijon Washington also contributed to the rushing game with 43 yards on the ground.
6-foot-4 quarterback Cole Hendrix of the Tigers is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,658. He has also thrown 20 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Washington. The Montgomery star has 26 catches for 595 yards.
LaSalle's Logan Wilson needs only 36 yards against Grand Lake next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 128 carries Wilson has accumulated 964 yard this year.
The Bears made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,698 from 10,540. The advance stemmed from a 49-12 victory over the Tigers last week.
