The Redwater Dragons will head out on the road to square off against the Pewitt Brahmas at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Redwater will be strutting in after a win while Pewitt will be coming in after a loss.
Redwater scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against New Boston by a score of 75-64. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Redwater.
Redwater found their leader in underclassman Tyris Crowell, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Crowell is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marquez Jones, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 117-45, which was the final score in Pewitt's tilt against Hooks on Friday. While losing is never fun, Pewitt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1227th, while Hooks is ranked 176th).
Redwater pushed their record up to 20-10 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Pewitt, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-19 record this season.
Redwater strolled past Pewitt in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 70-55. The rematch might be a little tougher for Redwater since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
