Make it five blowout wins for the Fort Meade Miners this season. They took their contest on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 68-32 win over Vanguard. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Fort Meade has posted yet this season.
Leading Fort Meade to victory were Nasier Berrien and Mekhi Berrien. Berrien scored 16 points along with two steals, while Berrien scored seven points along with 14 rebounds and three steals. Berrien hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Omari Russell, who scored six points along with three steals.
Fort Meade is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Vanguard, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Meade will challenge Mulberry at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vanguard, they will head out on the road to challenge Ridge Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
