Bell hasn't had much luck against School Without Walls recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Griffins will be playing in front of their home fans against the Penguins at 4:00 p.m. Bell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Bell is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of District of Columbia's top teams: Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering, who was ranked 18th at the time (Bell was ranked 13th). The Griffins put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 18-2 win on Monday. The Griffins haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Marcos Gonzalez was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elier Orasma, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Bell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .517 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, School Without Walls gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 6-3 win over McKinley Tech.
Alex Springer and Braden Sprinzen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Springer tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Sprinzen didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Springer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Springer went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Sprinzen got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nolan Smith, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Deal, Jr., who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Bell's victory bumped their record up to 6-4-1. As for School Without Walls, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.
