The Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Sherman Oaks CES by a score of 57-54. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences of the 69-53 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Sherman Oaks CES's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Evan O'Daniel led the charge by scoring 15 points along with nine assists. Another player making a difference was Andre O'Daniel, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Sherman Oaks CES, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-11.
Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences will head out on the road to face off against Canoga Park at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sherman Oaks CES, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Blair at 4:30 p.m. Blair has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,452 points over their last 19 contests.
