Lake Brantley came out on top against Wekiva by a score of 58-48 on Saturday. Given Lake Brantley's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Wekiva is ranked 304th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lake Brantley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dean Adkins, who scored seven points along with five assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Haluszka, who scored 13 points.
Lake Brantley pushed their record up to 17-5 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Wekiva, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.
Lake Brantley's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Lake Howell at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. Lake Howell will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Wekiva, they will head out on the road to square off against Ocoee at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
