North Forrest scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Lumberton Panthers by a score of 8-6. The Eagles have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Logan Hall was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Hayes, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

North Forrest's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lumberton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 6-1-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Forrest will head out to take on McLaurin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. McLaurin has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.75 runs per game on average), something North Forrest will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lumberton, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers challenge the Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hattiesburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
