The DuSable Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Back of the Yards College Prep 63-28 at home. That's another feather in the cap for DuSable, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
DuSable found their leader in underclassman Lavelle Mullen, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mullen scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Malone, who scored 12 points.
DuSable is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Back of the Yards College Prep, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
DuSable will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tilden at 4:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Hopefully Tilden focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Monday. Back of the Yards College Prep will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Mansueto at 6:00 p.m. on December 21st. Mansueto is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
