Takoma Academy is 6-1 against Lanham Christian since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Takoma Academy Tigers' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lanham Christian Lions at 4:00 p.m. on February 12th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Takoma Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Living Grace Christian, posting a 92-53 win on the road. Takoma Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 23 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, Lanham Christian had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Calverton 2-0. Given Lanham Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Calverton is ranked 275th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dakari Wilson was Lanham Christian's leading scorer, having posted two points.
Takoma Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Lanham Christian, their win bumped their record up to 19-3.
Takoma Academy strolled past Lanham Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 65-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Takoma Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
