Great Oak has gone a perfect 4-0 against Corona recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wolfpack will square off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 932 yards in their previous games.
Great Oak is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Temescal Canyon: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Wolfpack blew the Titans out of the water with a 49-13 final score. Given the Wolfpack's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Titans are ranked 474th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Great Oak's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryder Parks led the charge by picking up 144 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Those 144 receiving yards gave Parks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trent Lux, who threw for 231 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes.
Great Oak's run defense was locked in: Temescal Canyon could only muster 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Nolan Abeyta for the heroic effort on defense: he. Great Oak didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.5.
Meanwhile, Corona had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four last Friday. Everything went their way against the Matadors as they made off with a 28-2 victory. That looming 28-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this season.
A big part of Corona's win came down to the chemistry between William Hitchcock and his top target Benjamin Campusano. Hitchcock threw for 372 yards and four TDs while Campusano picked up 190 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Campusano was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 67 yards.
Corona didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Isaac Cabrera. Another thorn in Bolsa Grande's side was Jonathan Edgerton, who made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Corona's record now sits at 4-1. As for Great Oak, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Everything came up roses for Great Oak against Corona in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 50-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolfpack since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
