The Northview Chiefs are taking a road trip to challenge the Jay Royals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northview is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
Northview is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They skirted past Holmes County 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Chiefs have posted since April 4th.

Not much got past Mikayla McAnally, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Holmes County off the board. With that strong performance, McAnally is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Jay, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against Chipley on Tuesday by a score of 9-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). Considering the Royals have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Layna Lowry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kiley Samford and Miley McGee did most of the damage at the plate: Samford went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while McGee went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave McGee a new career-high. Carleigh Baker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Northview pushed their record up to 20-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Jay, their victory bumped their record up to 21-3.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Northview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. However, it's not like Jay struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Northview's way against Jay in their previous matchup last Thursday, as Northview made off with a 9-1 win. Do the Chiefs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Royals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
