The South Garner Titans entered their tilt with the Corinth Holders Pirates with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. South Garner simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Corinth Holders 55-26 on the road. Given South Garner's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Corinth Holders is ranked 566th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Najai Hines, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Jayden Littles, who scored eight points.
Corinth Holders lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Max Carlson, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Rocco Mazzeo, who scored nine points.
South Garner has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Corinth Holders, they dropped their record down to 1-16 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Garner will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Garner at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Corinth Holders, they will face off against Fuquay - Varina at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Fuquay - Varina is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
