Valley Catholic is 0-6 against Warrenton since April of 2023 but things could change on Saturday. The Valiants will head out to take on the Warriors at 2:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Valley Catholic sitting on four straight victories and Warrenton on five.
Valley Catholic's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Neah-Kah-Nie 12-0.

Brandon Yee made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Valley Catholic is 2-0-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-5 otherwise. Yee was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Trevor Yee was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elliot Bielefeld, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Warrenton posted their closest win since March 27th on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Horizon Christian, sneaking past 6-5.
Like Valley Catholic, Warrenton also got a great game from a two-way player: Talon McGrorty. He struck out 14 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). McGrorty has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
McGrorty wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Odin Wilson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Ryder Sturgell was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
Valley Catholic's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-5-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Warrenton, their record is now 8-3.
Valley Catholic came up short against Warrenton in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 7-2. Can the Valiants avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
