If the NYOS Charter Jaguars were riding high off their 59-27 takedown of the Harmony Science Academy Tigers last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. NYOS Charter took a 53-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Founders Classical Academy. NYOS Charter has struggled against Founders Classical Academy recently, as their match on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
NYOS Charter's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trey Huff, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Huff's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nathan Tadios, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
NYOS Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Founders Classical Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, NYOS Charter and Meridian will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 8:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Founders Classical Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Austin Royals HomeSchool at 8:15 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
