Softball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Riverview

Riverview won the last time they faced Canton and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Pirates put the hurt on the Cobras with a sharp 13-1 victory. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

Makayla Raymond spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

At the plate, Ella Vinco and Keira Logan did most of the damage at the plate: Vinco went 1-for-3 with one home run and five RBI, while Logan got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Logan has posted since May 2nd. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Southward, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Riverview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canton only posted a batting average of .150.

Riverview pushed their record up to 24-8-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Canton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-15-1.

Looking ahead, Riverview will head out on the road to take on Chelsea at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Canton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
