Baseball Recap: Southern Lab Has No Trouble Against Donaldsonville

Southern Lab's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Donaldsonville Tigers with a sharp 21-9 win. Considering the Kittens have won three matchups by more than 11 runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Logan Metevia made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Metevia was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Those stolen bases marked the first that he stole this season.

In other batting news, Jeremy Johnson was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Reginald Ellis, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Southern Lab always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Southern Lab back to even at 3-3. As for Donaldsonville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3-1.

Coming up, Southern Lab will square off against East Feliciana at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Donaldsonville, they will challenge White Castle at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
