It was a good run, but the Tishomingo County Braves unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 56-39 bruising from Callaway. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tishomingo County has scored all season.
Callaway got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jahanna Wilson out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 assists. The match was Wilson's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Megann Wallace, who scored 14 points.
Tishomingo County's defeat ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-3. As for Callaway, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tishomingo County will take on Amory at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amory has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28. Callaway's road trip will continue as they head out to face Columbus at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Columbus will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Callaway is ranked 26th).
