The Flowery Branch Falcons had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-49 win over Eastside on Tuesday. The victory was just what Flowery Branch needed coming off of a 77-39 defeat in their prior matchup.
Despite the loss, Eastside still got an impressive performance from Trebor Edwards, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Carter, who scored eight points.
Flowery Branch's victory bumped their record up to 5-18. As for Eastside, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.
Flowery Branch will be playing in front of their home fans against the Red Devils at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Loganville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully the Falcons like a good challenge. As for Eastside, they will head out on the road to take on the Bulldoggs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Winder-Barrow's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while the Eagles have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
