Stroudsburg has gone a perfect 4-0 against Pen Argyl recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Mountaineers will host the Green Knights at 10:00 a.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Stroudsburg 2.8, Pen Argyl 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Pen Argyl will be up against a hot Stroudsburg squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Mountaineers put the hurt on Bethlehem Catholic with a sharp 13-1 win on Thursday. The game was the first time the Mountaineers have beaten the Hawks on their field since April 18, 2017.

Stroudsburg let Elena Trotter and Katren Lavra run wild. Trotter went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Lavra went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave Lavra a new career-high. Dorothy Elko was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Stroudsburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Pen Argyl owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over Pocono Mountain East. The win continues a trend for the Green Knights in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won three in a row.
Not much got past Jillian Bradley, who gave up just four hits and racked up 15 Ks to keep Pocono Mountain East off the board. Bradley has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Pen Argyl saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Scherer, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another was Grace Weaver, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Pen Argyl pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Stroudsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Stroudsburg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .369. However, it's not like Pen Argyl struggles in that department as they've averaged .336. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Stroudsburg took their win against Pen Argyl when the teams last played back in May of 2022 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Do the Mountaineers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Green Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
