Hempfield extended their winning streak (dating back to last season) to 24 on Friday, bumping their season record up to 17-0 in the process. Everything went their way against the Manheim Township Blue Streaks as they made off with a 15-4 victory. Considering the Black Knights have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Liam Ahern spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brayden Hostetter, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Dylan Jackson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Hempfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

As for Manheim Township, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this matchup were averaging 3.79 runs allowed.

On Manheim Township's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lincoln Stoltzfus, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The timing is sure in the Black Knights' favor as the squad sits on 12 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Red Tornado have been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Manheim Township is set to challenge their familiar foe Cedar Crest at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
