The Dell City Cougars will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Marfa Shorthorns at 7:30 p.m.
Dell City pushed their score all the way to 62 last Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sierra Blanca. Dell City has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Reyes Espinoza put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 32 points along with six steals. That was a full 51.6% of Dell City's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Estrada, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Marfa came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Sierra Blanca with points to spare, taking the game 44-29.
Dell City bumped their record down to 4-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Marfa, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
