Oceanside (Calif.) didn't let up as Saturday's game came to a close, scoring six in the fourth quarter to seal a 32-10 victory over
Poway (Calif.).
The Pirates were up 20-10 at the half after taking the lead on a
William Gulley touchdown run in the first quarter.
Oceanside expanded its lead to 16 points entering the fourth quarter. OHS scored once in the quarter on a
Israel Paopao touchdown pass to
Jace Whittaker.
The loss snapped the Titans' 8-game winning streak.
Poway's
Brandon Lucas played well. The junior wide receiver ran for one touchdown.
Gulley stood out for the Pirates in the win. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 22 touchdowns on the season.
PHS's lone touchdown came on an 80-yard run by Lucas in the second quarter.
The Titans came in giving up 8.3 points per game this season. Poway struggled against Oceanside's offense, which entered the game scoring 39.9 points per game. OHS went into the matchup giving up only 10.1 points per game.
The loss comes after Poway defeated Helix 21-7 last week.
