The Keller Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Haltom Buffalos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Keller's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell to Timber Creek 35-31.
Keller's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Tre Griffiths, who picked up 142 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and Beckham Robinson who threw for 286 yards and four touchdowns. Griffiths is on a roll when it comes to receiving yards, as he's now posted 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Haltom can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by V.R. Eaton 35-34.
Haltom found their leader in underclassman Vudrico Roberson, who rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Roberson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 63 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Devan Ramirez Powell, who rushed for 123 yards.
Keller has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season. As for Haltom, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.
Everything came up roses for Keller against Haltom in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 32-0 victory. Will Keller repeat their success, or does Haltom have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
