The Whitefield Academy Wildcats put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 35-20 victory over Mount Juliet. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Whitefield Academy has scored all season.
Leading Whitefield Academy to victory were Noel Smith and Mia Braffet. Smith scored four points along with nine rebounds and four steals, while Braffet scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Gwynnie Franz, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Whitefield Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Mount Juliet, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
Whitefield Academy and Silverdale Academy will face off at 10:00 a.m. on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Silverdale Academy is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Mount Juliet will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wilson Central at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
