Masterman is 4-0 against Franklin Towne since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Masterman will be playing at home against Franklin Towne at 3:15 p.m. Masterman will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 722nd, while Franklin Towne is ranked 308th).
Last Thursday, Masterman didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Nueva Esperanza, but they still walked away with a 54-49 win. That looming 54-49 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Masterman yet this season.
Yuji Harrington continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 33 points. That makes it ten consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Masterman's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Adams, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Franklin Towne pushed their score all the way to 58 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Penn Treaty. Franklin Towne has not had much luck with Penn Treaty recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jayden Corley, who scored 13 points along with five assists and two steals. Jacob Andracki was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Masterman's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Franklin Towne, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Masterman beat Franklin Towne 57-44 in their previous matchup back in December of 2021. Will Masterman repeat their success, or does Franklin Towne have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
