The Beaver River Beavers will take on the Lowville Red Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Beaver River's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Lowville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Monday, Beaver River earned a 4-1 win over Watertown.

Kade Schneider spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Chris Evan was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Lowville beat Carthage 8-3 on Monday. With that victory, the Red Raiders brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Devin Sweirnik made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Sweirnik was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Lowville is undefeated when Sweirnik posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Zehr, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Deken Makuch was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Beaver River pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lowville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Beaver River was able to grind out a solid victory over Lowville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 9-4. Do the Beavers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
