Volleyball Recap: California Lutheran Triumphs

California Lutheran posted their closest victory since October 15, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the California School for the Deaf-Riverside Cubs 3-2. This was a revenge game for the C-Hawks: when they faced off against the Cubs on September 11th, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

California Lutheran had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-27, 25-9, 26-24, 15-8.

Among those leading the charge was Neleh Boehm, who had 16 assists and six digs. Those 16 assists gave her a new career-high.

California Lutheran was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in four consecutive matchups.

California Lutheran has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-13 record this season. As for California School for the Deaf-Riverside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-11.

Looking ahead, California Lutheran will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Hamilton at 5:00 p.m. As for California School for the Deaf-Riverside, they will head out to take on La Sierra Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
