Riverbend has gone 8-2 against Brooke Point recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Black Hawks at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Riverbend has seven straight victories, Brooke Point has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Riverbend barely beat Stafford the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bears blew past the Indians 15-3 on Tuesday. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
Chloe King made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Riverbend got a massive performance out of Isa Barber, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave Barber a new career-high. Ryleigh Livesay was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Riverbend lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Brooke Point lost 9-3 to Spotsylvania on Wednesday.
Like Riverbend, Brooke Point also got a great game from a two-way player: Lexi Halston (Shenandoah University. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those hits marked the first that Halston (Shenandoah University allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Halston (Shenandoah University wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Adriana Barton, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Naudia Mullins also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Riverbend's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Brooke Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Brooke Point's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverbend hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348. It's a different story for Brooke Point, though, as they've only averaged .237. Will they be able to contain Riverbend's hitters?
Everything went Riverbend's way against Brooke Point in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Riverbend made off with an 11-2 win. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Black Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
