Powhatan is 8-1 against Monacan since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Indians will welcome the Chiefs at 5:00 p.m. Powhatan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Powhatan proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 15) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Clover Hill 4-3. The victory was nothing new for the Indians as they're now sitting on three straight.

Brooklyn Narbut spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ava Harper was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Megan Gobble was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Meanwhile, Monacan made easy work of J.R. Tucker on Monday and carried off a 12-2 win. Considering the Chiefs' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
The team relied heavily on Katelyn Marshall, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Gee, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Monacan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as J.R. Tucker only posted an OBP of .348.
Monacan's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Powhatan, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
Monacan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Powhatan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .346. It's a different story for Monacan, though, as they've only averaged .242. Will they be able to contain Powhatan's hitters?
Everything went Powhatan's way against Monacan in their previous matchup back in April, as Powhatan made off with a 9-1 victory. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Chiefs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
