Even though the Modesto Panthers scored an imposing 59 points on Monday, the Gregori Jaguars still came out on top. Gregori walked away with a 71-59 victory over the Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Gregori.
Kaleb Smith was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Sims, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Gregori now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Modesto, their loss was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-20.
Gregori does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Modesto has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Turlock presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in California (the Bulldogs are ranked 479th, while the Panthers are ranked 1153rd).
