The Sandy Valley Cardinals are on the road again on Friday and play against the Perry Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Sandy Valley made easy work of Lakeview and carried off a 42-21 win.
Sandy Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nick Petro, who rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Petro is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Chad Davis was another major influence, as he rushed for 80 yards and ran in a TD.
Meanwhile, Perry put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Crestwood 56-0 at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Perry just coasted through the last quarter.
Perry can attribute much of their success to Jayden Studio, who rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown. Studio was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards.
Sandy Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Perry, their victory was their 13th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 11-0.
